What we did this weekend

We didn’t do too much this past weekend, but we did go on a road trip last week that  I’d like to share with you, if that’s okay.

We went down to NM for a visit.  It’s always nice to go back for a VISIT.  That Southwestern charm is appreciated a whole lot more by me when I’m there for short stints.

We stayed at our old neighbors home {whom we LOVE so much and MISS dearly!} and had some great catching up time.  But, as always, visits are too short and there’s never enough time to see everyone or do everything you want to do when you’re on a tight schedule.  We also met our new niece who is super cute {of course!} and saw pretty much all of my inlaws, which was so nice!

Here are some pictures during our travels….

This is my father in law’s Willy’s truck {it’s for sale if you’re interested}

The boys absolutely LOVE playing in it {and I LOVE taking pictures of this ol’ truck}

The colors are AMAZING, aren’t they!!!

They breed Scottish Highland Cattle as well!

They are such mild mannered cows and kind of cute in a scruffy way.

And, of course, there are chickens!

What kid wouldn’t want to hold one of these …

especially after the challenge of catching one!

One of their mares had a filly about 2 weeks ago.

So cute and beautiful at the same time.

One of the charms of NM are the doors!

This is at my sister in laws house.  I LOVE it!

Nothing say ‘Southwest’ more than these doors, hey!

This their door to their HOME.  Amazing workmanship!

Oh, and they have this crazy Southwestern BENCH that I would LOVE to steal!

On our way home, we passed Treasure Falls and HAD to stop!

It was gorgeous!

The boy leading me to see this….

CHIPMUNKS!  We fed them pumpkin seeds!

What a great stop!

Such natural beauty!

There you have it!

Hope you had a great weekend and a great start to your week!

    I love the cattle picture! So cute! Looks like you had a good time.

  2. I love those doors! I’ve never been to NM or the Southwest – it looks very beautiful, but I think that heat would definitely get to me.
