My friend’s First Foot Tattoo – Funny Video

I recently went home to British Columbia to surprise my girlfriend for her 40th birthday.  Not only did I get a great video of when I first walked in the door, I got a funny funny video of her getting her foot tattoo. We got matching tattoos on our feet.  They're so cute, don't you think?  They're little stick ladies each with one end of a string-can phone in her hand.  We live so far apart but we are always just a phone call away... This video is so funny and I've watched it about a gah-gillion times over and over! Funny, yes?! Please pound the like button on youtube if you can or leave a comment ... or share your funny tattoo videos if you have them!  It's always good to laugh!!!! … [Read more...]

A year of short hair

Last year, I willingly and excitedly shaved my head bald to raise money for Childhood Cancer Research through a great organization called St Baldrick's.  It's a world wide organization that raises money and those raising money, in turn, shave their head at events all over the world.  They occur on various days at various venues (Irish Pubs are huge sponsors) and they take place in around St. Patricks Day. It is an experience that can change many lives in different ways.  It can change a child's life, a child's family's life, and the shavee's life.  For women shavees, it can perhaps mean something different than men shaving their heads.  For women, hair and their hairstyles often define them … [Read more...]

Have you used Walmart To Go?

This is a sponsored post for Walmart To Go through Social Chorus. I will come clean and say that I am busy.  Period.  If you follow my instagram feed, you will see that there really is never a slow moment in my life.  It is constantly going.  Constantly. Going. Between working, volunteering in my sons' school, helping them with their homework, blogging, sewing, painting, doing my 21 Day Fix, both sons in hockey, redoing my whole house, getting crickets for my boys' lizards, going to the home improvement store ... you know, the usual 'mom' stuff ... there are times where I get home and I remember that I forgot to go to the grocery store.  Are you with me here? Please tell me I'm not alone, … [Read more...]

Love your boobs

Do you love your boobs? why or why not? Most of you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to most women it's a month to bring more awareness to breast cancer, to remind women to get their mammograms regularly, to celebrate those who've survived, and remember those who've lost their lives to breast cancer. But this month isn't just about that. It's about reminding women to embrace ourselves and recognize what makes us beautiful, unique, and what defines us as women. My friend Courtney from the eclectic lifestyle blog Fry Sauce & Grits started a movement called LOVE YOUR BOOBS, LOVE YOURSELF. Courtney is a bra fitter, bra educator, blogger, and is passionate about women … [Read more...]

Cover up an old tattoo

Years ago before even thinking of moving to the States from Canada, I got this little bitty Canadian maple leaf tattoo on my foot. Fast forward many years, it has faded and was just looking like a black outline of something with a pink? filler. One day this past summer, I had had enough of looking at it and wanted to change it up a bit.  I didn't want to do laser tattoo removal, I just wanted to either darken the pink to the original red or change it. The story behind my tattoo... My 2 boys and I are dual citizens.  Wanting to keep in line with my original sentiment of representing my country, I wanted a way to keep this theme.  So, we came with a design that would make the tattoo a … [Read more...]
