HGTV’s Design Star Likes ME! Kim Myles Likes ME

She really likes me!!! Kim Myles shocked the heck out of me when I saw she had retweeted me {she tweeted my post to all of her followers}!! When I post a blog post, it automatically tweets it out to my followers.  So, I cross my fingers and hope that someone in the twitterverse will see it and click over. Kim Myles added to my happiness when I saw this after I posted my How To Paint Kitchen Cabinets tutorial... She wrote "Great How-To!" WOOT!!! I HAD to reply to her ... cause that's how I am!  She told me she loves what I do as well! WHAT? Yup, she said it!!! I actually did watch her season and watched her finale!!!  It's hard to watch TV with little people, but I DVR'd HGTV's … [Read more...]

Golden Globes Hangover

Hi all! I wanted to stop in to say hello! I feel like I was on such a HIGH last week getting all my iPhone covers done and sent off for the Golden Globes and now I'm hung over!  LOL! The good thing is that my creative mojo is in high swing!!! This is a pic of my studio when studio work is not in full force.  Notice how it's so clean... Which means that productivity is up in the studio! So, I'm mostly doing this {above} right now ... my fulfillment comes from sewing at the moment... I look at my inspiration board and see things {and people} that I love and who inspire me.  It's so freeing to have a board to pin random 'things' up and not have to worry about the esthetics of it. … [Read more...]

With that said, here is what she has to say.... Thank you Tara for inviting me as a guest to share a bit of my experience in the blogging world. Other People’s Wisdom and Skills – Tips for Making Sense of Social Media

Making sense of social networking can be very challenging when you're first exposed to it.   Once you're in the groove and have everything set up, it gets easier.   But how do we get there? This week I'm so pleased to post on Nicolette Tallmadge.  Her podcasts are one of the first ones I started listening to while I sewed.   I started listening to podcasts because I was tired of late night radio and wanted something new and different.  I started listening just after Christmas because Santa brought me an iPad {lucky me!} and I was able to bring it in to my studio and listen.  The other main reason I started listening to them is to MAXIMIZE on my time.  Trying to learn while I was sewing … [Read more...]

Other People's Wisdom and Skills – The Science of Blogging by Hubspot

The first podcast/webinar of this series that I'd like to share with you is from Hubspot. Now, this company has an arsenal webinars talking about all things to do with an online business.  They provide various services {of which I haven't used just yet as I recently stumbled upon their webinars} that cater to help generate traffic to your website and beyond. Here's a few topics that they have posted on their site that I'd like to share with you: MARKETING.  I'm a Work at Home Mom {WAHM} and am not out in the public eye as much as, say, a brick and mortar store is.  So, I need all the help I can get in the marketing department as my business is primarily online. GETTING FOUND.  They talk … [Read more...]
