Mod Podge Paper

I just painted this chest with a Modern Masters Metal Effects kit and felt that it wouldn’t be complete without the inside being made over as well.  I ripped out the old wall paper that had been in there for what seemed to be someone’s lifetime.  It surprisingly had adhered very well for a very long time, but it also came out just fine.  Check it out... Painful surgery right here.  That little patch above on the right ... stayed right there ... shhh ... nobody will know. I tried to use contact paper, let’s just say, it was a FAILED attempt ... a HORRIBLY FAILED ATTEMPT It wouldn't stick to the sides.... So, don't waste your time or your contact paper on this … [Read more...]

Update to my Mod Podge Dresser

I have finally COMPLETED this dresser! Here is a link on how to mod podge maps to this dresser. Our son is so excited to have it in his room AT LAST! Here it is when we got it: Well, minus the drawers, but I of course didn't take a picture of it all together. Here it is during: Using some maps that I aged with burning the edges and Mod Podge, I covered the fronts of all the dresser drawers.  This Mod Podge dresser is gettin' worked!!! Side table makeover

This puppy was FREE!  Yup, F.R.E.E!!!!  I got it and another piece off of Craigslist for free!  It does not get better than that! The lady didn't want to take it to the dump and pay to get rid of it, so I was all too happy to take the pieces off her hands! So, again, I scuffed it up a bit with some fine-ish grit sandpaper.  Primed it and painted it with some oops paint. I tried a new thing for me with this piece though!  I Mod-Podged it this time.  I had never ventured this way with furniture in the past, but I think it turned out pretty good.  I just used some scrapbooking paper I had on hand and slapped it on there ... so it's not perfect, but I like it. It adds color and … [Read more...]
