Lego Figurine Storage – Goodwill Before and After

Goodwill is my go-to place for my flighty ideas and project hopefuls.  My boys have all these Lego Figurines and they're scattered throughout the house.  I've wondered to myself how to display them in a nice clean way.  I have also lurked through the Goodwill aisles and have seen these wooden trays wondering to myself, 'what could I do with those?'  Then, all of the sudden, it donned on me!!! Lego Figurine Storage!!! What a concept! All I did was spray paint the wood in a metallic silver paint. What a difference!!!  It is now ready to get to work! Then used hot glue to secure 4 top/8 top/24 top flat Lego pieces in the middle of the individual compartments. Let it dry and started to … [Read more...]

Goodwill Finds for the Home

Although, I don't usually buy bedding at Goodwill, I couldn't resist this purchase. {that, and I drove straight to the dry cleaners to have it dry cleaned} I LOVE LOVE LOVE the color combination and the quilting detail on this bedspread. It works perfectly in our home.  With our walls, our carpet, our decor. I just fell in love with it instantly and thought I'll never find this quality of a quilt with these colors for a better price. Well, then again, no where, can beat Goodwill's prices, really! This is the sham. So, I'm going to tell you how much I paid because I know you want to know... The quilt was... wait for it.... $4.50 and the shams were.... $1.99 {for both} I bought … [Read more...]

Decorate with Spray Paint

I recently took the plunge and redecorated our front room with purple and green walls! I kind of love this room for so many reasons!  Not just the color, but the couch I bought at Goodwill for $15, the art I've made that just goes, the $8 dresser from Goodwill. This lamp pictured below is also a Goodwill find!Wanting to add some extra light, I decided to use a lamp I have had for forever but never used.  The color was a bit off and perhaps a bit too dark. You can see just how easy it is to spray paint something and give it a new life in under ONE MINUTE!!!! This video of me spray painting this lamp shows the before and how quickly it changes. It is just so perfect bringing in … [Read more...]

Goodwill Denver … ROCKS!!!

I love Goodwill Industries in Denver! There is ALWAYS something I find there for a GREAT PRICE! I also love Craigslist, too.  I've been looking on Craigslist lately for a used treadmill for about a month as I'm going to start training for a 1/2 marathon.  And, well, you know it's starting to get a bit chilly in these parts, so I didn't want any excuse not to train. I recently went to Goodwill and what did I find?  A freaking treadmill! Seriously!!! {The leaves are via the boys} For how much, you ask? YES, $54.95. {love the 'tredmill'} We got it home and figured out that the 'safety key' was missing.  Bummer. BUT, I went online and called the parts department, they had one in … [Read more...]

A Fort for the Boys

A few months ago, we received a play set for FREE from our neighbor as their daughter had outgrown it and they wanted to get rid of it.  I had been looking on Craigslist for a while, but wasn't ready to throw down $400-$800 for one.  Well, we were so thrilled and LUCKY to get this from our neighbor!!  We had to do some tuning up, of course, and had to purchase some parts ... but we were just so thankful to have this playset for our boys! Well, we put on a HUGE canopy made of solid wood.  My husband believes in making things very sturdy and didn't want to put just a 'tarp' that we'd have to just end up replacing in the future anyways. Well, it turns out, he's not a carpenter. The 'support' … [Read more...]
