Hex Performance Product Review

I had the pleasure of trying out the Hex Performance products to wash my boys’ (and my husband’s) stinky sweaty hockey gear.

There’s a smell that can build up in gear and athletic apparel that doesn’t come out, no matter how many times it’s cleaned. The car, house, and environment become a smelly locker room and forces a quarantine of gear in cold garages (or anywhere to be free of that smell!). HEX scientists have created a new formula designed specifically for performance gear and apparel that truly cleans and removes unwanted odors and bacteria from performance gear and apparel.

Hex Performance has a 2 part system to clean and to keep the active gear odor free for up to 30 days.

Hex Performance Product Review by a mom of hockey playersI tried it on all the washable hockey gear (socks, cup, shirts, socks, towels, etc) and they came out smelling pretty neutral which is a good thing as they have come out of the dryer smelling a bit sweaty still.  It’s just that way.

Hex Performance Product Review by a mom of hockey playersThey came out this time odor free.  This leads me to another point, there aren’t any perfumes in Hex products … (oh, don’t mind the RED PAINT on my hands, I was multitasking. Painting signs and doing laundry, you know, typical DIY stuff)

I tried the On Demand+ Spray and Go on my husband’s helmet and shin pads.  Although my nose did not find it’s way into his helmet, it got sprayed!!  Helmets are certainly something I cannot throw into the wash machine, so the On Demand+ spray and go was the way to go.  Again, there aren’t any perfumes or scents in the products so you won’t smell anything covering funky hockey gear smells.

Hex Performance Product Review by a mom of hockey playersOn to the shin pads … I will say that I’m sure there is potential but it didn’t take the stench away.  I think maybe they have to be washed and then maybe spray it to keep the stench on the down low.

Hex Performance Product Review by a mom of hockey playersThe bottle is a bit on the smaller size which is great for small hands like mine.  I didn’t want to use the whole bottle on just shin pads, but I used half of it and it didn’t do the job.  So, that’s why maybe washing them first with the Power+ Laundry Detergent or the Ultra+ Dual Action Gear Wash might be best.  In Hex’s defense, the shin pads are pretty raunchy … men’s hockey sweat … blech….
