Have you ever had a salad there?  To be honest, I haven’t, I always go for the chicken sandwich myself.  One of the reasons for that is because I mostly eat and drive {shhhh … don’t tell anyone}.

But, we have a lot of ‘Spirit Nights’ there which are fund raisers for our schools and we actually go in and sit to eat.  So, I know what I’ll be eating on those nights for sure.  I’m so glad we got to do this, to try these salads!

The 3 new salads they had for us to try were Chick-fil-A^® Cobb Salad, Chick-fil-A^® Asian Salad, and Chick-fil-A^® Grilled Market Salad.

Along with the salads, they give you sides that you can add.  You can add as much or as little as you like and are only suggestions.  So you can even mix them up if you like.  You can even substitute the grilled chicken with the crispy chicken {if that’s how you roll} or the other way around.  You just specify and they’ll make it the way you like it!

And, of course, since we did so well with our dinner and caloric intake, we had to top it off with a Peach Milkshake!!!  Of course!!

Starting at $6.79, each salad will offer two or more servings of vegetables or fruit, and have between 180 and 430 calories (without dressing). Salads are freshly prepared throughout the day at Chick-fil-A’s 1,700-plus restaurant locations nationwide.

Chick-fil-A is also making significant changes to its salad dressing options. The salads can now be paired with dressings unique to Chick-fil-A, such as Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette, Avocado Lime Ranch and Honey Sesame. And, for the first time, the new Chick-fil-A Cobb Salad and Chick-fil-A Asian Salad will be topped with hot, sliced Chick-fil-A^® Nuggets.”

They help mold our little people in their early years and they continue to help pave their road as they grow.  I remember all my teachers from back home and STILL keep in touch with mine, even my 1st GRADE teacher!!! … and she’s not even on facebook!  Some of my elementary school teachers came to my high school graduation AND I still have the cards they gave me!

Teachers play and integral role in lives.

Kindergarten was a big year for me as it is for any mom who sends their child off to school.  But, this year, first grade has been a HUGE year for this mama.

I have seen such a huge growth in my first grader!!!!

I can hardly stand it!

Going back to the beginning of the year, I remember being completely overwhelmed for him … and with him.  It was crazy!  He had so much darn homework!  A ton of homework PLUS 20 minutes of reading a night!!!  WHAT??  Like 40 minutes of homework for my little 6 year old?

IT DID GET EASIER.

Well, like anything, at the beginning it’s a shock.  BUT, in the end, I can’t tell you how glad I am he had the teacher he had for Grade 1.  He and I will look back and be thankful that she started him out the way she did.

Just a short while ago, he was reading his book for school at bedtime.  He kept asking me if he kept asking me if he could keep reading.  It was way past his bedtime.  BUT, who was I to say no, the boy who doesn’t like reading wanted to keep READING!!  Sure, keep reading!!!  He read 207 pages that night and stayed up till 10:30!  I was not concerned at all by the time, I was THRILLED at the amount of READING he had done!!  It was a MAJOR turning point for my boy!!

So, why am I telling you this story?

Because it inspired me!

And it inspired him!

We MADE his teacher a mosaic gift.

I wanted to share this story with you separate from my mosaic tutorial.   I just wanted a post to thank our teachers and share our little story of how grateful we are that we have such wonderful teachers.  Sometimes we don’t always understand where they’re going with their instruction … but in the end, your child’s light bulb goes off.  That is what happened in our case.

I want to say a special THANK YOU and ‘shout out’.  Thank you, Mrs Wegley, for 40 YEARS of teaching.  I watched you stay so lateWe wish you a very happy retirement.  We are grateful we had you as a part of our son’s life early.  You were instrumental in his learning and reading.  We couldn’t have been happier with his giant leap in learning this year!

Tapinfluence is a company that brings brands to bloggers or “influencers”.  I had the pleasure of doing a testimonial about them recently.  They have brought some brands to me that I have had some wonderful experiences working with.

So, they’re putting together a story about their company and what they do, what the influencers do, how the influencers work with the brands, what the influencers think of working with tapinfluence, etc.  So, I know that there were a few influencers interviewed and their CMO Holly Hamann was present, and I’m sure they have a lot more in store that I have no idea.  So, I can’t wait.

Stay tuned … I’ll post when they post what they edit … can’t wait to see it.
