This is an easy DIY makeover you can apply to pretty much anything you can paint.

This trash can has been begging for an update for years for fear of being donated to Goodwill.  So, it got a makeover and a quick paint job.  Not just any paint job …

This is truly an easy beginner DIY project.

You gotta see this chevron makeover - DIY Ombre Spray PaintI used 1/4″ tape to tape off the chevron pattern.  I did not measure, I simply eyeballed it and taped away.

(which happened on mine, but that’s okay)

You gotta see this chevron makeover - DIY Ombre Spray PaintFirst, I used Krylon Silver Metallic Spray Paint and covered the whole trash can.

You gotta see this chevron makeover - DIY Ombre Spray PaintThen, starting at the top, I started with the copper metallic spray paint and went side to side using an even speed.  It was too hard to video while painting trying to get even coverage.

I went all the way around and decided where I wanted it to fade and made it as even as I could for the fade.

Just love how the chevron spray paint pattern turned out!
