For years I have wanted to have my boys who are ‘the Rex brothers’ meet Colorado Rockies pitcher, ‘Rex Brothers’.
I’ll never forget sitting at Wahoo’s waiting for our food, flipping through a magazine, I saw this ad about “What’s up with Rex Brothers”. My first thought was ‘they know we’re here!!!!!’ (in Denver) … I quickly realized that one of the pitchers for the Rockies was this guy! Ever since then, I made it a personal goal to have my little guys, ‘the Rex brothers’ meet THE ‘Rex Brothers’.
It finally happened and it was such a great experience, not only for the boys, but for all of us!
We were able to meet this cute young pitcher prior to the game … which also just so happened to be my birthday.
What an experience for a little boy who not only loves the Colorado Rockies, but also played on the Rockies little league baseball team! My husband was his coach and has been for the last 3 years, so these two guys have a ton of Rockies swag (well we all do, but they have more). There is just something about a dad coaching his boy’s little league baseball team that is so bonding, it’s a true joy to watch. What’s more is that they play as their favorite MLB team!!! It would be interesting to hear Rex’s story of playing little league. Maybe one day….
Rex Brothers signed their Rockies hats, baseball cards, and a baseball for the boys.
Rex Brothers was so gracious and interested in the boys and our family, very genuine. He asked what their favorite sport was and made a point to tell them they didn’t need to say baseball. My youngest said ‘Baseball’ (which it is), and the oldest said ‘Hockey’ (made this Canadian momma proud … LOL!). He said he wanted to meet the boys when he heard the story of the names. We are so happy he did and agreed to spending a few minutes with us.
Aren’t these shirts awesome?!
They sat like this for a few minutes and quickly switched for the rest of the game, so they were ‘Brothers’ ‘Rex’ for those who saw their backs. So funny.
This little guy was so into the game!
My oldest boy loves to pitch, so this was also a dream come true for him to meet a Major League Baseball Pitcher!! He practices pitching every chance he gets and is always trying to improve.
So for him to see this action from the Rockies pitcher he JUST shook hands with and got pictures with, he was on Cloud 9.
Just look at that form! I cringe just seeing his arm bent like this … just the mom/nurse in me.
Thank you to the Rockies organization and to Rex Brothers for taking the time to make such great memories for the Rex family.
