Sew It All TV airs on PBS in 160 cities nationwide.  The host Ellen March invited me to be a part of Season 5!  What an honor to be a part of a show that I’ve watched and always wanted to be on, and now it’s actually happened!  AND … it’s the opening episode!  Episode 501

The episode will show the 2 tutorials that are in the December issue of the Sew It All magazine set to hit newsstands December 4th, 2012!  WOOT!  It was a lot of fun to break it down and show how to make my bracelet cuff and my business card holder.

We started early in the morning.  First stop, hair and makeup!  I wished I had a picture of this part, well maybe not … LOL!  But here’s an after shot of Ellen and I

Aren’t we purdy?!

This was after our shoot was complete.  There weren’t any ‘cuts’, it was straight through shooting.  Not nerve racking at all.  Ellen was great at talking through and being the great host that she is.  It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.  I had visions of my hands shaking uncontrollably and me having to have them grounded on the table or on my lap at all times.  Pleasantly surprised, my hands weren’t trembling what-so-ever, and it was pretty relaxed.  The cameras were there, the camera men were behind them, so it wasn’t like there was an audience really.  This was one of my thoughts that made me a bit nervous going in to it.  The ‘worry’ and anticipation was for nothing.  It was like it was just Ellen and I talking through the steps as if I were teaching her.

Being the first day of shooting, there were lots to set up and so I was lucky enough to be a part of it all.  Lucky to have spent a lot of time on the set and get to know some of the members of the production team.  You know me, I’m a social butterfly and want to meet everyone and know what’s going on in their lives.  So, it gave us some time to learn a bit about eachother and visit.

Ellen, the host, just returned from Sewing Summit the night before.  She had some great stories to share of all the inspiration and talent that the Sewing Summit was surrounded with.  What a busy gal!  Host and editor.  Such a hard worker! … Next year, Sewing Summit is certainly a stop I’d like to make!  {maybe I’ll be sponsored to go!}

Here are some photos of the Sew It All set I took…

Don’t you LOVE the brilliant colors of their studio?  Very artistically inspiring!

Does this give you any ideas for your own studio?  Attaching simple cork board squares to your studio wall … a great Pinterest pin!

Note the cool little orange dude in the corner.  Fun!!

LOVE this Vintage wire sewing machine decoration!

Here’s Ellen planning the episode with Kim.  Getting ready!!!

Ellen posed with the business card holder we made for the episode.

It was such a great day.  I can’t wait to actually see it on PBS!  It will air most likely in April, 2012.  Check your PBS station to see if it airs in your city.

You count on me letting y’all knowing when it’ll air for sure as soon as I hear!

You can go to Quilt and Sew Shop to purchase each season on DVD
