And then I thought, “I should’ve made a tutorial!!” WHOOPS!!!
Ah well, I can tell you that it’s pretty much the easiest thing to make even without a pattern!
I’ll be wearing this at the SNAP conference that I’m attending this weekend! I cannot wait!!!!
Okay, Maxi Skirt Tutorial …
I’ll try to explain how I made it, but remember, these are typical ‘me’ instructions …
All I did was …
I held up fabric from my waist to the floor and added a bit for the waist to put the elastic through.
I cut it, wrapped it around me to see how much fabric would be there and guesstimated how much it would gather … you don’t want too much gathering {it can add some poundage around your middle}
Then I sewed down first … only one seam ladies! WOOT!
I then went to the top and folded it over once and a little bit for a clean seam for the waist {to put the elastic through}
I used a safety pin on the end of the elastic and passed it though, sewed it to make a complete circle and finished the waist.
Then, I wanted to add some interest to the bottom of the skirt, so I cut 2 strips of the same fabric, sewed one end of each together, and pinned it around the bottom to make a ruffly accent.
Ta-da!!!
{love the socks!}
