When did you start doing your craft?
About 3 years ago.. I had minored in photograph in college. and three years ago I was newly married, in a new country and wanted to not be stuck in a 9-5 job. I wanted to be passionate about whatever I did and photography fitted my every need.
Who/what inspires you?
Everything. The trees, the light of the sun sneaking out of the clouds on an overcast day, buildings old and new, the architecture. The details, the patterns, the repetition of things all around me and in far off places.
Where do you create?
The photograph is taken where ever I am travelling to or taking my camera. The editing is done at home.
What’s your biggest challenge owning an online store?
Bringing in buyers.
How do you promote your store?
I tweet, use pinterest and have a blog. I also have an account on linkedin and have a facebook page.
What advice would you give to other Etsy store owners?
Be patient. I had my first sale after four months. I see so many people complaining in the forums that they have had their shop open for a week and have no sales. What are we doing wrong, they ask. Nothing. You have to give it time. You have to also use all that the internet has to provide, that includes social media. Your buyers are all online clicking link after link.. you have to try to make sure one of those links they click is yours.
